Why this wiki

Past-pupils of St Mary's Convent High School at Mapusa are known as 'Green Chillies' -- from the green-and-white colour of the uniform they wore. So, we're trying to build a network here among all the past pupils, to help one another to stay in touch, to remember with nostalgia about the good old times, and even to see how we can get involved in making our alma mater even better than it was in our times. If you have any skills, give it back generously to the current crop of students. Let the cycle of sharing roll on...

Stirrings of the alumni network

Leaning heavily on the power provided by new ICT (information and communication technologies), specially the internet and mailing lists, we have come together to network past pupils of the school. While this venture has been taken up by the alumni of the school themselves, we hope to closely interact and work with the activities, plans and dreams of the school.

Tribute to a teacher

ARLETTE AZAVEDO from Mapusa in Goa wrote a touching tribute LYDIA DE SOUZA, from Porvorim-Goa. Azavedo wrote: "She is one of the greatest and finest teachers that anyone could ask of, at St. Mary's Convent High School, Mapuca. Mrs. D'Souza has left a deep impact on many of her students, as she had the qualities of serving her students at all the time. Mrs. D'Souza had a very pleasant nature and our classroom lit with happiness as she entered, due to her sparkling personality. For her teaching career was a passion and she loved mingling with all of us. We could be in any problem; it was she who had a knack of dealing with the students. I really feel privileged that I was her student and I am sure that all our 'greenchilles' (as St Mary's girls were called in Mapusa, specially by their 'rival' Britto Boys) shall feel this way, as it was Mrs. D'Souza who taught us right from wrong and the values of life."
